I have made many maps in the past, some I feel are worthy of being shared and others need some sprucing up before they get shared with the AW community. I have made maps in MED and also in NILE. When I have made my maps, I think MED is easier to use but is limited on what you can do with it. I like NILE but it seems to have a larger learning curve. I was curious to hear what others use. and why.

      Hi Bloodhound

I  think that the learning curve is easiest with NILE and it is a “what you see if what you get” map editor with the 3D view.
It is easy to place objects and move them around.
With that in mind, it is easy to put them together and create custom buildings or structures that players can move around on.

In MED with only the 2D view that is much harder to do and requires more testing ingame. MED has a steeper learning curve but you can take advantage of more advanced events as it is integrated more with the game. If you are not using those events, then I’d recommend newbies to start with NILE and make your first demo map. 🙂
