      Hi All,

I was trying to play some older maps and some of them gave me an error: “Mission is too large, Too much memory allocated”

(example: Operation Irian Jaya from Apr 11, 2009)

When i play this map in the original Joint Ops, no errors occur and the maps ends well.

      What could be the problem.

      I’m running Windows 7 on a Asus Z97-PRO-GAMER, with Intel i7 4790K and 8GB RAM

      Thanks for all your help

Ok, i had a look into the BMS and these are the Stats:

      “198 People88 Vehicles/Objects1000 Buildings/Decorations232 Markers13 Area Triggers

      ————————————–

      28323K – Approximate Vertex Data”

I think everything with or above 28000K will cause “Mission too large” with Mods. Same is with DFX Missions played with AW2 I’ve tested. Some Missions are fine with Vanilla DFX but you can’t play them with DFX Mods or AW2. It has something to do that Mods have more Weapons, Graphics and so on.

      Yup.
I’ve also just tested the map and I get a “mission to large” error too.

It is because the map is made on the borderline of memory usage for JO:TR so it can just manage to load there.
So like ennio pointed out, it will not be able to do that with expansions or mods that offers more content.

Only way to make it work with AW2 is to remove or replace objects in the map to lower the memory usage.

I’ve changed a little in the Map and it is now playable:

      197 People86 Vehicles/Objects1000 Buildings/Decorations231 Markers13 Area Triggers

      ————————————–

      26795K – Approximate Vertex Data

This is what i’ve done: changed 3 different Types of Heli into 1 Typ of Heli, changed 3 Types of Boats into 1 Type of (Aw2)Boat. That’s all. Also, for personal taste, i’ve changed the Enviroment from Vanilla to AW2. So i now have a playable Map which is almost Original with AW2 Boats and AW2 Enviroment. I don’t know if i can/should upload it here because it’s not my Map.

      Hi Ennio, Captain,

      Thanks for looking into this.

I was worried, because it looked like something was wrong in my PC or AW2 installation.
