A loading screen can spice up the feeling of whats coming next while the map is loading and give your players clues as to what to expect in your awesome new map.

In order to show a loading screen when your map loads, all you need to do, is to find an image, make it the size of 800×600 (recommended resolution) and save it in the .pcx format.

Usually you would use a program like Photoshop to make it.
We already have made a loading screen template available in the downloads here, that you are free to use. It is a photoshop file with layers, so all you need to do is to replace the images and text.

One last thing – remember to name it the same as your map file name.

So if your map filename is “aw2-awesomemap.npj”, then your loadingscreen filename has to be “aw2-awesomemap.pcx”.

      Happy mapping!
