Getting AW2 med and launch to talk to each other in Windows 11

Any ideas on how to get the med editor and the AW2 launch program to talk to each other on Windows 11. My laptop is W11 and I have AW2 installed on it but when I try to do a map and export it it doesn’t show as a new map on the launch start a game page.
Very frustrating to say the least. I have both of them in compatibility mode for Windows XP package 2 but that still doesn’t work.
If there is anything that I should be doing then I would love to hear as this is getting to me when I’m away from my desktop where I have no trouble.
