Hi everyone!
I just started to do a little mapping and discovered a new mapping trick that makes you able to test your map changes in less than 1 sec!
I made this video for you. Hope you find it useful
Inserting new objects (objects that has not been used before in the map) will not show until you go back into the Single Player menu and load the map again.
BUT you still don’t need to close down your game which is a nice time saverThough, a funny side effect is that if you click “restart” after inserted a never before used object, you will still experience the collision box of the object.
So the object is there but the texture is not shown and therefore not visible. Not until you reload your map (going back out into the menu and start the map)
If the object already exists in the map, the object will be visible.
Based on that I guess we can conclude that when the game is first started it loads all the texture of the objects into the memory.
So when you click “Restart” the game just reuses the texture previously loaded into the memory, which is why it starts it up so fast – within 1 sec.Still one good thing to know is that new changes to the WAC will always be carried over when clicking “Restart”. So no problem there…
