Just in case some of you may be wondering where the whole ‘2-versions-of-a-certain-map-concept’ comes from that I sometimes apply and why it should even be necessary at all; the thought behind it is not to be difficult, exclusive or offense or anything like that. The reasons are merely technical and practical:
-host-triggered vehicle departures
-host-triggered win-/lose conditions
-host-triggered prisoner (e.g.extraction) conditions/events
-specific win-/lose conditions
-host-presence required
-teamwork through communication (software) requiredMany of these events would not work on a public server: the map would end quick/sooner or wouldn’t start/work at all because the host isn’t/can’t be there (e.g. to trigger something/someone), it may require people to be on Team Speak to work together, etc.
Luckily these ideas are scarce and most of my maps would work on dedicated servers, but the ones that do fall into this category took a lot of work to build or were a long-time wish of mine to release and share (helicopter/fast rope missions), but only under ideal circumstances would they function or be understood.
Again: I hope this is not a problem to people; I meant no offense or cause trouble with it.
